Who We Are
Introducing The Restored Church
God’s Church • Our Ministry
The Restored Church exists because of a growing need to see the institutional church — and the people it serves — restored to a healthy relationship with Jesus. God has called us to help restore a generation to Him, and to restore the very idea of what His church represents.
We believe the institution and the people within it are precious to God — so precious that Christ died to purchase them both with His own blood.
We believe in a simple form of government where mutual submission to one another is paramount, using God’s Word as the judge and the Holy Spirit as the guide. Christ is the head of the church. Elders and Deacons are caretakers of the saints in both word and deed. Preachers, teachers, evangelists, and prophets are gifts that strengthen the spiritual life of the flock.
We are a ministry of excellence that operates in integrity. We are socially involved and community-oriented. We are fiscally responsible and transparent. Most importantly, we are helpers to one another — we are family.
Our worship style is universal. There will be singing, weeping, and sometimes even laughter. At moments we’ll become incredibly loud, and at other times we’ll whisper in worship right above silence. The only rule for worship is that it has to be real.
“We’re just real people having real church!”
What We Practice
Four Ships. One Voyage.
At The Restored Church, our life together is built on four core practices — we call them the four ships. Each one carries us further in our walk with God, and together they form the heart of how we live out our faith.
Relationship
Knowing God personally and loving Him with everything we have — and letting that love show in how we treat the people around us.
Discipleship
Following Jesus daily, growing in His Word, and being shaped into His likeness as we learn, practice, and help others do the same.
Fellowship
Doing life together as family — encouraging, praying for, and carrying one another through every season.
Stewardship
Faithfully managing the time, talents, and treasure God has entrusted to us, and using them for His purposes.
If you only master these four ships, you can sail into heaven.
Relationship: Appreciation & the Acts of It
A real relationship with God is a grateful one. We praise Him, adore Him, and worship Him — and that appreciation was never meant to stay hidden. It shows in our songs, our lifted hands, our tears, our shouts, our stillness, and even our public displays of affection toward the One who first loved us.
That same heart of appreciation flows outward. The way we love God is seen in how we thank and honor the people He has placed in our lives — our families, our community, and our church family. Appreciation is something we say, but it’s also something we do.
October is Clergy Appreciation Month. We thank God for our pastor, Pastor Jay Blackshear, and for the clergy who serve faithfully alongside him. Their prayers, their preaching, their long hours, and their care for the flock are gifts from God to this house, and we honor them with gratitude.
“Esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:13

Meet Your Pastor
Pastor Jay Blackshear
Founding & Lead Pastor, The Restored Church
Elder Jay Blackshear is a devoted servant of God whose life and ministry bear witness to the transforming, restoring, and redeeming power of Jesus Christ — a journey of faith, perseverance, spiritual renewal, and a steadfast commitment to fulfilling the call of God upon his life.
Today, he serves as the Founding and Lead Pastor of The Restored Church in Altamonte Springs, Florida, where he leads as preacher, teacher, pastor, shepherd, and evangelist — building a ministry focused on reaching the lost, strengthening believers, and restoring broken lives.
“Come as you are, but change as you come.”
▸ Read His Full Story
His Christian foundation was established at New Bethel A.M.E. Church in Orlando, Florida, where he was an active and dedicated Sunday School student. At the age of 14, Elder Blackshear made a personal commitment to Christ. Shortly thereafter, he joined The Apostolic Church of Jesus, where his faith continued to deepen and his understanding of ministry began to take shape.
At the age of 16, Elder Blackshear answered the call to preach the Gospel. His journey, however, would include seasons of both triumph and testing. By the age of 21, he had strayed from the path he once knew and ultimately found himself incarcerated. What could have been viewed as the end of his story instead became a defining season of spiritual restoration.
During his incarceration, Elder Blackshear rededicated his life to the Lord and developed a deeper dependence upon God. Removed from many of the distractions of the world, he sought the Lord sincerely and asked for another opportunity to serve in ministry. In that sacred season of surrender, he committed himself to serving God with faithfulness, transparency, humility, and determination. God honored that commitment.
Under his leadership, The Restored Church has become a ministry focused on reaching the lost, strengthening believers, restoring broken lives, and proclaiming the uncompromising Gospel of Jesus Christ. His ministry is marked by a passion for souls and a sincere desire to see people experience genuine transformation through a relationship with Christ.
This message of restoration is more than a slogan; it is the testimony of his own life. Elder Blackshear understands personally that God can redeem the broken, restore purpose, and use every chapter of a person's story for His glory. Through his preaching, teaching, pastoral leadership, and anointed altar ministry, he encourages others to believe that no life is beyond the reach of God's grace and no circumstance is greater than God's power to restore.
His life remains a testimony to the truth that God is faithful, His grace is sufficient, and His purpose will prevail when a surrendered life is placed in His hands.
